Help Build Timothy J. Jones Fitness Center

In 1994, St. Paul Police Officer Timothy J. Jones was killed in the line of duty, while patrolling on the East Side of St. Paul. The Saint Paul Police Foundation, through the Police Athletic League, has teamed with Harding High School to memorialize Officer Jones for his devotion and commitment to the safety of all.

As a means of honoring Office Jones, fundraising efforts have begun to allow for the refurbishment of the current athletic facility at Harding High School, which is outdated along with equipment which is obsolete and worn. Once completed, the center will be named the Timothy J. Jones Fitness Center as an initiative of the Police Athletic League and the Saint Paul Police Foundation. The Center will offer St. Paul kids after-school options with opportunities to enhance their athletic abilities in a calm, clean and safe environment while interacting with teachers and members of the St. Paul Police Department. Through your generosity, you can help to promote safe and healthy neighborhoods.

Police Athletic League (PAL)

PAL promotes youth engagement in a variety of after school and summer recreational activities, including sports, water park visits and trips to the zoo.

PAL staff spends time talking with kids who need one-on-one time with mentors—police officers, community volunteers, and collaborative efforts with other organizations.

Program funds are also used to purchase lunches and healthy snacks as most of the youth qualify for free or reduced meals. Often, the lunches are their only opportunity to receive a nutritious meal.
