Motor Cops Receive All Season Protective Gear
New Saint Paul Police Department Motor’s protective gear rolled out this week. The Saint Paul Police Foundation funded the Motoport all season protective gear for all motor cops. The funding was made possible by nearly $7,000 in grants raised by the Foundation. The suits are all season, rain gear and protective all wrapped into one and will protect officers in the event of a motorcycle crash.
The formal check was presented to SPPD Chief Tom Smith on Thursday, June 11, as part of the Foundation’s annual golf tournament at Highland National Golf Course in St. Paul.
Since its inception in 2005, the Foundation has raised more than $5 million to help support numerous SPPD initiatives including providing life saving equipment, Shop with Cops, the Safe City Camera program, Cops and Kids program and a variety of resources for crime victims.
